Makeup & Hairstyle for a Camping Trip
Hey, guys and dolls!
I’ve got a makeup and hair look for you all today. My family goes camping at least a couple times during summer vacation, and even into the fall months, so I’ve gotten pretty used to having to work out my makeup and hair looks around the conditions of the outdoors. I figured I’d share one of my favorites with you today! Hope you enjoy!

THE FULL MAKEUP LOOK - - -
I like to keep my makeup as simple as possible. Start off with a tinted moisturizer (that has SPF), apply a full-coverage concealer where needed, and top it all with powder. Next, fill in your eyebrows. This will make you look more finished off. Apply an eye primer, then a long-lasting, neutral cream shadow base (I recommend the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Branded or lightly apply Tough as Taupe). These will help your eye look stay in place. Top with a matching neutral shadow and blend into crease, then apply a cream-colored highlight to your brow-bone and inner corner. Use a liquid liner to draw a very thin line along your upper lash line, and finally finish off with your favorite waterproof mascara. You can also apply a lip tint if you want to add some color to your lips, but, otherwise, a nice lip balm with SPF will do the trick.

THE HAIR - - -
My easiest suggestion is a classic ponytail. It’s quick, simple, and gets your hair up and out of your face. But, if you’d like to spice it up a little, try a single French or Fishtail braid down the back of your head. You could also pull your hair up into a Sock or Ballerina bun. The main point is to make sure your hair is out of the way and off of your neck so that you stay cool, but also cute.

What to Do in a Photo Booth

What to Do in a Photo Booth
Hey, guys and dolls!
After looking at all the photo strips on my wall, I figured this would be a really fun tip to do. Photo booths can get expensive, but, I believe they’re definitely worth it if you do them on special occasions, like vacations or birthdays, and if you pitch in some cash with someone else. So, I’ve compiled a list of poses, faces, and other silly things to do while in a photo booth with your friends or family members.

How to Tell Your Parents You're Starting to Date
Hey, guys and dolls!
Dating is a huge issue in life, especially once high school hits and it seems like everyone you know is in a relationship. Mix in over-protective parents, and you’ve got one big pot of drama. I hope this tip helps to ease that a little, and allows you to communicate to your parents that you’re ready for the game of love.
If you’d like more dating advice, comment down below. I’ve got some ideas in mind, but I’d love to hear what you guys would like to see, too!

1) First off, DON’T DO IT BECAUSE IT’S “COOL.” Dating someone just for the sake of having a date is not okay, but it’s even worse if it’s for your first date. Wait for the right guy, and I promise you’ll have a lot more fun and make happier memories than if you’d gone out with some random person.
2) DON’T WHINE. Whenever you whine, your parents can’t help picturing you as the little four year old screaming for a Barbie in the toy section of Walmart. Not exactly the image you want to be giving them. Be mature about it; after all, dating is a step into adulthood and that’s definitely going to require some maturity.
3) EASE INTO IT. Don’t come right out and say, “Mom, I’ve got a boyfriend.” Work up to it with saying you’ve been hanging out with someone from school, you’ve gotten a crush; little things that hint at the big picture. This works even better if your parents already know and like the guy. Then, they have less of an excuse not to let you date him.
4) BREAK IT TO THEM GENTLY. Be careful as you finally reveal that you’ve got a date or boyfriend. Maybe try and point out that you’ve done well in school this semester, or that you got a B on your last math test; something to show them you’re capable of being mature, and you can handle dating in addition to your everyday life.

A Makeup Look for Spring & Start of SUmmer
Hey, guys and dolls!
It’s been quite awhile, but I’ve been super busy with play rehearsals, studying for AP tests, and transitioning into all the great spring weather. I thought I’d bring you guys a spring/start of summer makeup look to help all of you make the transition between seasons, as well. I’ve been wearing this lately, and I absolutely love it. Plus, it’s all drugstore, so you’ll definitely be able to recreate it for cheap!

THE EYES - - -
1) USE A NEUTRAL BASE. I used my E.L.F. $1 Eye Primer, and then lightly applied Maybelline’s Limited Edition 24-Hour Color Tattoo in “Barely Branded.” It’s a nude cream shadow that helps hold the powder shadows in place. (It’s not the one pictured in the set; I couldn’t find it, so I just used that one.)
2) APPLY A LID COLOR. Using a fluffy eye-shadow brush, I apply the second color in the first column of the Wet ‘n Wild Color Icon Palette in “Comfort Zone.” It’s a gorgeous sparkly, darker nude shade that looks beautiful on the eyes.
3) APPLY A LIGHT CREASE COLOR. With a big blending brush, I use the NYX Nude Matte Shadow in “Dance the Tides,” which is a red-orange shade, not the one pictured in the set. It gives a sort of sunset effect that’s beautiful. I apply this right into my crease, going slightly darker on the outer half of my eyes.
4) APPLY YOUR HIGHLIGHTS. I like to use a cream-colored highlight in my inner corner and right under my brow bone. I also take this moment to place a bit of a gold shadow onto the center of my eye lids. It makes my blue eyes really pop, and gives more depth to the overall look.
5) EYELINER. Using my E.L.F. $1 Liquid Eyeliner in brown, I make a very thin line across my top lashes, winging it out just a tad at the end. I let it dry, then smudge it out a bit with a brown eyeshadow.
6) MASCARA. Curl your lashes, then apply Rimmel’s Sexy Curves mascara in “Very Black.”

THE FACE - - -
1) APPLY YOUR FOUNDATION. I like a full coverage look, even during the spring and summer, so I tend to use high-coverage products. This can be difficult to find in anything but cakey foundation, but the Covergirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation is a good alternative to my everyday products. I use the E.L.F. $3 Flat-Topped Powder Brush to apply the liquid product.
2) USE CONCEALER WHERE NEEDED. After you put on your foundation, lightly apply concealer to any problem areas. I love the E.L.F. $1 Tone Correcting concealer, but the Covergirl one shown in the set is great, too.
3) APPLY POWDER. I typically use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder with a large fluffy brush, focusing the product around my T-Zone and right under my eyes, which both tend to get oily.

THE LIPS - - -
1) I’ve been loving my EOS lip balms lately, especially the Strawberry Sorbet one. This is all I’ve been using on my lips, but a pretty pink would match the eyes well.

A Short Guide to Wearing Makeup

A Short Guide to Wearing Makeup
Hey guys and dolls!
Lindsey here with a short guide to makeup. These are just some tips that I have for getting into makeup, wearing it, and using it to make yourself more confident. I’m by no means a professional, but, as a girl who has been using makeup since 7th grade, I pretty able to say I’ve gained some knowledge on the stuff.
Enjoy and message with any requests!

1) BUILDING YOUR COLLECTION: Makeup is one of those things where you can be head over heels for it, or just use it for fun. If you want, you can go nuts and buy every product that catches your eye. Or, if you’re a bit more conservative, you can only buy the basics that you need. Building a makeup collection is a personal hobby, and you don’t need a huge dresser full of products to be good at applying the stuff. I suggest starting off with a small bag full of the necessities: powder, concealer, mascara, an eyeshadow trio or quad, and a brown eyeliner. This will get you through school and daily life, and, if you buy a neutral eye set with a deeper color, can be used to get tons of different looks. As the years go by, you can start adding more things to your collection and, before you know it, you’ll be moving to a drawer to keep all your products in!
2) DEVELOPING YOUR TECHNIQUE: Applying makeup takes practice, and lots of makeup remover wipes. You won’t be a pro at liquid liner the first time you put it on; it takes awhile to get used to keeping a steady hand. But, the great part of makeup is, you can wipe it all off if you mess up. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve re-done my makeup before a big party because I screwed up the eyeliner or the colors didn’t turn out like I’d thought. Actually, I still do this; there’s no shame in it though. Give yourself the time and patience to learn and, soon enough, you’ll have a bunch of basics down that you’ll be able to grow from. I recommend watching YouTube makeup tutorials so you can see how other people apply products; this will give you a visual to learn and adapt to your own routines.
3) ROCKING YOUR LOOKS: I like to think of makeup as a form of art. You’ve got brushes, “paint,” and a canvas unique to you. Be confident in the looks you create though, and don’t let people’s opinions scare you into sticking to the same look every single day. Try new things; pick up a bright green eyeliner or a bold lipstick and incorporate these into one of your favorite looks. Whatever you wear, don’t be scared to show it off. You created it; your mind came up with it, and your hands worked their magic to bring it to life. That is definitely something to be proud of.
4) BUILDING CONFIDENCE: Makeup can be used to obscure many of the imperfections that make us girls nervous to be seen in public. While I don’t recommend hiding behind it like it’s some sort of shield, you can use it to help hide the things that add to your insecurities. That huge pimple that came out of nowhere last night? Throw some concealer on it and your day will be a lot easier to handle. Eyelashes too short and stubby? Try some mascara to open your eyes and make them look great. This is one of the perks of being a girl, and, if you want to take advantage of it, I definitely recommend it.

My Thanksgiving Look

My Thanksgiving Look
Hey guys and dolls!
I thought I’d pop on quick and do a look of the day. This is all similar to what I’m wearing today for Thanksgiving, so let me know if you’d like tutorials for any of it. Hair, makeup, and outfit; enjoy and have fun with your families.
Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

THE MAKEUP - - -
I kept it pretty neutral for makeup, just because I didn’t want to be going all smokey and dark for a day with my family. I used the E.L.F. $1 Quad in Butternut to create my look and my falsies mascara. I opted for tinted moisturizer, instead of full on foundation, topped with concealer and powder and a tiny bit of bronzer. For lips, I popped on the Maybelline Babylips in Twinkle.

THE HAIR - - -
I pulled my hair back into a messy ponytail because I wanted it all out of my face. I curled the ends once it was pulled back to help create a little movement and depth.

THE OUTFIT - - -
I chose a classic Little Black Dress paired with some fun accessories. I wanted something simple, but comfortable, and this dress did the trick. I didn’t wear a lot of arm/hand jewelry because I didn’t want it clinking during the meal, but I did have my class ring on and that was about it.

Black Friday: A Few Tips & Tricks

Black Friday: A Few Tips & Tricks
Hey guys and dolls!
I’ve got mini-guide to Black Friday shopping. I’ve only gone the past few years, but, I feel like I’ve gathered a couple tips and tricks in that amount of times. Enjoy and comment with requests!

1) DO YOUR RESEARCH: Check out all the store ads that are already being blown up on the TV and in your local newspapers or online. See what places have things that interest you, and also compare ads to see who has better deals on items. This will definitely help keep you from feeling overwhelmed when you get inside a store and see all the shoppers sprinting around.
2) MAKE A LIST: After checking out the ads, compile a list of things that you know you want to buy. This will give you a goal to work towards and also keep you on track so you don’t get too distracted. Of course, it’s always fine to stray from the list, but this’ll help give you something to work off of.
3) DRESS COMFORTABLY: Dress in clothes that you’ll be able to move in. I usually go in yoga pants, flats, and a big sweater. Comfy, breathable, and I don’t look like a bum in pj’s, haha. Also, bring along a cross-body bag that won’t slip off your shoulders or require an arm. This will free your hands up for carrying your spoils and you won’t be worrying about it getting lost at any point.
4) GO WITH FRIENDS: Going with a group of people is way more fun than going alone. Plus, you can cover more ground if you all pick an area and grab what the other/you need. And, afterwards, you can all go celebrate your shopping accomplishments with a great Starbucks trip together!
